An evening outside is a good place to begin.

Mara Ellis teaches the fictional course shown in this theme. The lessons use short experiments and clear comparisons.

How the course is taught

Each lesson starts with a decision you can test. Keep a composition steady, change one setting, and compare the result. A written notebook connects the photograph to what you actually did.

The course begins in familiar public places. You do not need an expedition or an elaborate equipment list to practice exposure and focus. Read the opening lesson, take a short walk, and make a few deliberate frames.

A note about this site

Syllabus is a fictional course site. Mara is a demo instructor, and the photographs are credited stock images rather than her work. The checkout links take no payment. A real course owner can replace the biography, lesson content, delivery details, and checkout settings.
